Hunter Says Bonds Would Fit In Toronto

Angels outfielder Torii Hunter believes that free-agent slugger Barry Bonds would fit into the lineup of the Toronto Blue Jays, according to TSN in Canada.

Hunter expressed his opinion while appearing on TSN's "Off The Record" on Wednesday.

"I think Barry Bonds is a big pick up for a lot of teams," Hunter told host Michael Landsberg when asked about recent rumors suggesting the home run king might fit in Toronto. "If we needed a DH, I think Barry Bonds would be a great fit. I mean, he's one of the best hitters in the game. Why not have him?"

Hunter was then asked what kind of effect Bonds might have on the clubhouse in Toronto.

"I think he'd be a good fit. It's a different scene, a different clubhouse. That's Vernon Wells' clubhouse, you've got to respect that.. Trust me, he's a great guy, I know him pretty well. I think he's a pretty good guy in his own way. You've just got to get to know Barry," Torii added.

Figgins Keeps Popping Up In Trade Rumors

White Sox general manager Ken Williams is rumored to be interested in Angels infielder Chone Figgins but he understands acquiring him won't be easy, according to The Chicago Sun-Times.

A source close to the White Sox said that Williams began sending out "feelers" about two weeks ago regarding his interest in Figgins.

"That's an interesting name, and a name that I, yeah ... they're a pretty good team and they need ... I'm talking about the guys that will ultimately be available, and I don't know if they will be any better than what we already got," Williams said Tuesday. "Again, the key phrase being that they will ultimately be available. Not that I can't sit here and play the fantasy game. Hell, I can play that game and come up with a bunch of people. Reality, that's the game I have to deal in."
