Angels' Anderson: I'm Not Going To Be Here Forever

Garret Anderson is aware that this could be his last spring training with the Angels after 18 years with the team, according to The Orange County Register.

"It has crossed my mind," Anderson told the Register. "I've seen so many guys leave and I'm a realist. I know one day it's going to be me. I'm not going to be here forever. I understand that."

"An organization kind of has to do that. You can't let your team get old. Seattle went through that. They waited a little too long with too many guys, and they paid for it for a couple years," he added.

Angels Beat K-Rod, But Will Still Receive $10M

The Angels defeated Francisco Rodriguez in salary arbitration Friday, and the closer will receive $10M rather than his request for $12.5M, according to an Associated Press report.

Despite the loss, Rodriguez tied the record for the highest salary in an arbitration decision; a mark he shares with Alfonso Soriano, who lost his case against the Nationals in 2006, and Ryan Howard. Howard beat the Phillies on Thursday.

Angels' Owner Wants More Drug Testing

Angels' owner Arte Moreno is pleased that substance abuse is getting attention in baseball but believes that more testing needs to be done, according to the Associated Press.

"I think it was really important to get it out. Anytime you've got things hanging around in the closet, eventually you've got to get them flushed out," Moreno told the AP on Thursday.

"Are you going to get everybody? No. But at least it's a proactive attempt to finally get on the same page with the union and say, 'There's no place for it.' Eight years they've been testing. The next thing is, obviously, you're going to have to have some blood tests," he added. "A lot of people spend more time trying to hide the stuff than they do making the stuff."
