Johnson, 27, is batting .279 with eight home runs and 41 RBIs this season, his third with Houston.

Starling Marte homered on his first major league pitch, and the Pirates held on for a 5-3 win over the Astros on Thursday night, according to an ESPN.com report.
Pirates fans couldn't wait for Marte's debut, who was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis, to reach the majors, and he didn't disappoint, taking Dallas Keuchel's first pitch for a leadoff home run to left-center.

The Pirates are getting serious about their playoff push, acquiring lefty Wandy Rodriguez in a trade Tuesday night with the Astros, according to an ESPN.com report.
The Pirates will get up to $17.7M in the deal to offset what could amount to over $30M in salary for Rodriguez.
They are sending Triple-A All-Star Rudy Owens and Colton Cain, both left-handers, and outfielder Robbie Grossman to Houston.

The Astros and Blue Jays have completed a trade involving 10 players, according to Houston general manager Jeff Luhnow.
Toronto will receive reliever Brandon Lyon, starter J.A. Happ and right-hander David Carpenter.
Meanwhile, Houston will acquire seven players, two of which are Major Leaguers -- reliever Francisco Cordero and outfielder Ben Francisco.
The Blue Jays will also part with four minor leaguers: right-handers Joe Musgrove and Asher Wojciechowski, left-hander David Rollins and catcher Carlos Perez.
Houston will also receive a player to be named later.
