Astros' New Uniforms To Bring Back Old Colors

The Astros will submit a new uniform design for the 2013 season and owner Jim Crane hinted that the franchise's old colors will return.

“We’ll blend some of the new with the history of the team and some of the colors in the past,” Crane said.

“We’ve selected it all and we’re about to submit it. We’re due in on the 30th, so everything’s set to go to baseball for approval.”

The Astros used lots of oranges and blues in the past.

Astros GM Works Game As Usher

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow worked as a ticket-taking usher at Minute Maid Park during Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Fans barely batted an eye as Luhnow scanned tickets and greeted fans with a friendly "enjoy the game."

He fielded not a single question.

Luhnow was recognized once, by a regular at Minute Maid Park who puts up the "K" signs in the outfield at just about every game.

Astros Give Galarraga Minor-League Deal

Armando Galarraga has signed a Minor League contract with the Astros.

The right-hander was famously denied a perfect game two years ago when umpire Jim Joyce missed a call at first base that would have been the final out.

Galarraga, 30, will help the Astros fill a rotation spot at Triple-A Oklahoma City, which has a need for a starter after Henry Sosa agreed to pitch in Korea.

Carlos Lee Runs Into Umpire, Gets Elbowed In Eye

Houston's Carlos Lee stumbled during a play on Tuesday night, running into an umpire.

He tried to make a play on a grounder by Jimmy Rollins of the Phillies and Lee received an elbow from the umpire after the ball bounced off his glove.

After trainers checked him out, Lee was back at his position for most of Philadelphia's 4-3 victory in 10 innings.

Carlos Lee Wants To Remain With Astros

The Astros have started the season relatively well, but they aren't going to contend and their productive veterans have been mentioned in trade rumors.

Carlos Lee is making $18 million this season and has just two home runs, 14 RBI and a .269 batting average.

He can reject trades to fourteen teams.

Lee badly wants to remain in Houston and showed no sign to waive it this winter when a rare team showed interest, according to sources.
