Jeff Bagwell deserves to be indicted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, writes Peter Gammons.
"To steal from Rob Neyer, the man is fourth on the career Wins Above Replacement list among first basemen, behind Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx and Albert Pujols," Gammons wrote.
"Think about that, and think back to the Astrodome and how it ground down a hitter's mentality, and think about hitting 449 home runs playing the majority of your home games in that cavern."

The Rockies have improved their bullpen for 2011 by acquiring right-hander Matt Lindstrom from the Astros on Thursday for two Minor League pitchers -- left-hander Wes Musick, a former University of Houston standout, and right-hander Jonnathan Aristil.
Lindstrom, who turns 31 on Feb. 11, went 2-5 with a 4.39 ERA for the Astros last season.

The Houston Astros have signed left-hander Ryan Rowland-Smith to a one-year, $725,000 deal.
Rowland-Smith went 1-10 with a 6.75 ERA in 27 games with Seattle last season, including 20 starts. He was 12-17 with a 4.57 ERA in 115 games over four seasons with the Mariners.
