Giants Acquire, Then Trade Paulino

Just hours after acquiring catcher Ronny Paulino from the Phillies, the Giants traded him to the Marlins for Minor League right-hander Hector Correa.

Earlier Friday night, the Giants sent lefty reliever Jack Taschner to the Phillies for Paulino.

Paulino reportedly had been on the Marlins' radar since the Winter Meetings.

Hanley Wanted To Be Dealt After Having To Cut Cornrows

Hanley Ramirez was enraged in the clubhouse on Thursday after the Marlins asked their players to wear short hair and stop wearing jewelry on the field.

"I want to be traded," Ramirez said in frustration, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Ramirez calmed down, and doesn't want to be dealt, but he was upset after having to cut his cornrows.

"We want to look professional," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Nice and neat."

"Everything's great, I'm fine," Ramirez said afterward.

Miami-Dade Agrees To Pay Share Of Marlins Stadium

Miami-Dade county has agreed to pay a share of the costs for a new ballpark in Miami for the Florida Marlins.

The team had been looking for financing help for more than a decade.

"I'm slightly numb," Marlins owner Jeffery Loria said after the vote. "I just feel good for everybody involved. It's not about me. It's about what we do. I'm thrilled for everybody."

When the new stadium with a retractable roof opens, the team will be renamed the Miami Marlins.
