Marlins Extend Gonzalez Through 2011

The Marlins have extended manager Fredi Gonzalez's contract through 2011. Gonzalez was entering the final year of his initial three-year, $1.5 million deal.

"It really, really was a tough negotiation," joked Gonzalez, who was extended the offer on Saturday. "I don't think I let him finish the sentence. I said, yes, I want to be here with him and I want to be here for a long time and win a championship."

Ohman Has Offers From Bucs, Marlins, Padres

Will Ohman, one of the top relievers left on the free agent market, has offers from the Pirates, Marlins and Padres on the table.

His agent said on Monday that Ohman plans to continue talking with the three teams before making a final decision.

"When Will gets an offer he's comfortable with, he's going to sign," agent Page Odle said. "Right now we continue to have dialogue with several teams on a pretty regular basis. There's no timetable."
