Tigers Won't Pick Up Renteria's Option

The Tigers won't pick up shortstop Edgar Renteria's option for next season, President/GM Dave Dombrowski said Monday.

Sheffield Suspended Four Games

Tigers' hitter Gary Sheffield was suspended for four games for his role in the Friday night's brawl with the Indians, according to Detroit News.

"Any time you get into a confrontation or a fight on the field, you're going to get suspended," Sheffield said. "But when guys take cheap shots, I take that personally. When I find out who they are, they're going to have to deal with me."

Sheffield opted not to appeal and began serving the suspension Monday night against Kansas City.
