Magglio Ordonez won his first AL batting title, getting three more hits Sunday and leading the Detroit Tigers over the Chicago White Sox 13-3 in a season finale between two disappointing teams.
Ordonez raised his average three points to .363 and easily beat out Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki.
Ordonez became the first Tigers player to win the batting crown since Norm Cash batted .361 in 1961. Ordonez also finished with 139 RBIs.

Detroit's Carlos Guillen will shift from shortstop to first base next season.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland spoke with Guillen about the change on Wednesday.
"It's OK," Guillen said before Friday night's game against the White Sox. "I don't have any problems. I want to help this team get better. We were in the World Series last year, and I want to bring us back."
Leyland said the team was making the move with Guillen's health in mind.

Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordonez said Monday night he will have an MRI exam today on his left heel, which has caused him pain much of the season.
Ordonez said he and the club want to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong with the heel that requires something be done to it in the off-season. For now, Ordonez plans to give it plenty of off-season rest.
The pain caused Ordonez to sit out Sunday, but he showed no effects of the problem in Monday night's game, going 1-for-3 with a walk.
Even if the heel causes Ordonez to miss more games, he has enough at-bats to qualify for the American League batting title, which appears to be his to lose.
