Lance Berkman will be a free agent this winter and he's open to the possibility of playing for the Rockies.
"That's a place that I would definitely have interest in," Berkman told the Denver Post.
Adding Berkman would be a complicated move for the Rockies, who have Todd Helton at first base and no designated hitter role in the National League.

When Carlos Gonzalez had only been in the MLB for a few games, he robbed Albert Pujols of an extra-base hit.
"He's one of the greatest guys in baseball. He wants to help you, wants to teach you how to play this game," Gonzalez said. "Last year and this year, when we've had a little bit of time, we've kind of talked to each other. He's always making sure you're doing the right thing."
Gonzalez said no one actually brought them together through an introduction. They were simply drawn together because Gonzalez admired Pujols' accomplishments and Pujols saw Gonzalez's desire.
"I'm sure that Americans feel the same way that we do. Latin players see each other, and we know we play the same game," Gonzalez said. "It's like we knew each other for a long time. We just talked."

The Rockies have an excellent core with Troy Tulowitzki, Carlos Gonzalez and Ubaldo Jimenez, but more help is needed.
Manager Jim Tracy said Thursday that adding an "impact bat" is a top offseason priority. The Rockies will target catcher/first baseman Victor Martinez, if he becomes a free agent, but he could be out of their price range.
"My first reaction is that I would just like someone in here to step up and be that bat," Tulowitzki said. "The way this organization is run, in-house would be the first choice. We need somebody to step up and really be that threat. If that doesn't happen, then we will be forced to go out and get someone."
