Jimenez Extends Scoreless Streak To 22 1/3 Innings

Rockies starter Ubaldo Jimenez extended his scoreless streak to 22 1/3 innings on Tuesday.

He threw six shutout innings against the Diamondbacks.

Jimenez's scoreless innings streak is the longest in franchise history by a starter.

"I don't even think about it," he said. "You can make a mistake and they could hit a home run and that would be the end of it."

Jimenez is 5-0 with a 0.79 ERA in 34.1 innings this season.

Hammel Leaves Start With Groin Injury

Rockies pitcher Jason Hammel strained his right groin in Monday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

"I don't want to go on the DL," he said. "I pride myself on being a healthy pitcher. We have an extra day off and maybe that will play into the situation and I won't miss any time."

Hammel was hurt in the third inning and didn't return.

"It happened on the last pitch of the third inning, but the pitch before that I could feel it tightening up," he said. "Then it popped on the last pitch. It doesn't feel too bad."
