Indians Send Betancourt To Rockies For Prospect

Following Thursday's game at Rogers Centre, the Indians informed Rafael Betancourt, a fixture in their bullpen since 2003, that he has been traded to the Rockies in exchange for Class A right-hander Connor Graham.

It was the second swap of the summer for an Indians team that dealt Mark DeRosa to the Cardinals last month.

Rockies Could Hold Onto Atkins

Garrett Atkins has been mentioned in trade rumors this season, but the Rockies aren't going to deal him without reason.

"We aren't going to move him just to move him. If there's a baseball trade that's going to make us better and the other team involved better that's the direction the conversation will go. Otherwise, there's zero chance we move him to move him," Colorado manager Jim Tracy said.

Line Drive Breaks Embree's Leg

Rockies reliever Alan Embree will miss the remainder of the season after his right leg was fractured by a line drive on Friday night.

"There will be some type of compression screw put in there," Rockies manager Jim Tracy said of surgery that was expected to take place on Saturday.

Atlanta's Martin Prado hit a fastball back up the middle in the seventh inning.

"It sounded awful," Rockies catcher Chris Iannetta said. "I couldn't even track the ball it was hit so hard. It sounded really bad."
