Rockies At .500 Entering Break

The Rockies recovered from a first-month mess to find themselves in position to be a part of the National League West race during the second half of the season. They rebounded from a nightmarish trip with a strong homestand.

But in case the Rockies needed a reminder of how thin the line is between their desired success and the failures of the past, they were given a reality check Sunday during an 8-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies at Coors Field.

Though the Rockies were denied an unbeaten homestand, they took five of six.

After sweeping the New York Mets, the Rockies won two of three from the Phillies, leaving them .500 or better at the All-Star break for only the fifth time in 15 seasons.
