Boston's Interest Will Go Up If Rockies Pick Up More Salary

Despite the rampant Todd Helton rumors, sources close to the Red Sox indicated the club is not only unmotivated to tinker with its roster, but also have not yet seen a proposal it would consider serious. That could change depending on how much of Helton's salary the Rockies are willing to pick up.

?Anybody would love to have him on their team,? said Josh Beckett. ?I would never compare him to Trot (Nixon), but he plays like Trot in that he will play hurt and he will play every day. People across the diamond always noticed him, because when the Rockies were losing all those games, he would stand up and take responsibility, be one of those ?I want to be part of the solution, not the problem? type guys.?
