Durbin, Indians Agree To Deal

The Indians have agreed to a one-year contract with pitcher Chad Durbin, according to a baseball source.

Durbin receives a guaranteed base salary of $800,000 and can make an additional $1 million in reachable incentives.

He had generated interest from some clubs as a starter, but is expected to pitch out of the bullpen for the Indians.

Durbin was a valuable contributor for Philadelphia in recent seasons.

Sizemore Completes First Sprint, Agility Work

Grady Sizemore, working back from microfracture knee surgery, sprinted and did some agility work for the first time since the procedure on Sunday.

"He started sprinting today. It went well," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "He was supposed to do it at 50-60 percent and he felt good after it. He also did some agility drills for the first time and everything went well."

The agility exercises that Sizemore ran through included moving side to side and backwards.

It was the first time he did more than light jogging since undergoing the operation on his knee in June.
