Perez Calls Kendrick's Walkoff Bunt A 'Stupid Play'

The Los Angeles Angels beat the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night thanks to a walkoff bunt by the Angels' Howie Kendrick.

Indians relief pitcher Chris Perez called Kendrick's game-winning hit 'a stupid play' after the game.

"It was a bad baseball play that happened to work out," said Perez. "I don't want to say it was bush league. But you never see that. Ninety-nine percent of hitters in that situation would rather win the game with a hit, not a bunt."

"It was a stupid play that just happened to work," said Perez.

Will Indians Turn To Santana At Catcher?

The Indians have gotten just nine hits out of their catcher position so far this season, which could mean a promotion for Carlos Santana from Triple-A soon.

Cleveland rookie Lou Marson won the starting job out of spring training, but he's just 3-for-31 this season. Mike Redmond, the team's veteran backup, has gone 6-for-24.

Santana walked three times and clubbed a home run on Friday, his fifth dinger of the season.
