Cliff Lee wouldn't mind if the Indians approached him with the idea of a contract extension sometime before Opening Day.
Currently, he'll make $5.75 million this season and has a $9 million club option for 2010.

Matt LaPorta and Michael Brantley, the key pieces of the CC Sabathia trade with the Brewers last July, have been invited to Spring Training by the Indians.
Both players, who are outfielders, are expected to begin the season at Triple-A Columbus but could be a factor in Cleveland this season.

The Indians won't owe pitcher Carl Pavano any additional money in incentives until he makes his 18th start in the 2009 season.
As far as Cleveland is considered, having Pavano appear in eighteen games would make 2009 a success.
