Reds May Use Bailey And Cueto In Long Relief

The Reds have a trio of talented young starters in Johnny Cueto, Homer Bailey and Edinson Volquez, who have been impressive in Spring Training and are competing for slots in the rotation.

But according to Dusty Baker, he might like to see them in long relief.

"I come from the Dodger way," said Baker. "With young guys, the next best thing is long relief. It's in between starting and relief. It's probably the least pressure on the staff because most of the time you're coming in when you're behind. We did it with Dave Burba in San Francisco. He ended up winning nine, 10 games."
