Chicago White Sox Wiretap

Dunn On Record Pace For Strikeouts

Adam Dunn has 121 strikeouts already this season.

Over his last 10 games, the White Sox slugger is 3-for-36 without a home run and 21 strikeouts.

"It's the kind of strikeouts," manager Robin Ventura said of his concern.

"There are some when it looks like he's missing more than when you see him missing a pitch. He might be out front more with a timing thing that can be worked on. But I don't worry about those strikeouts when he's doing what he was doing a couple of weeks ago."

Dunn is on pace for 265 strikeouts, 42 more than Mark Reynolds' major-league record.

Obama's Youkilis Ribbing Earns Boston Boos

Barack Obama jokingly thanked the city of Boston for trading Kevin Youkilis to the White Sox during a campaign speech on Monday.

"Boston, I just want to say thank you for Youkilis," Obama told the audience at Symphony Hall.

The crowd began booing, in a loud but seemingly good-natured matter.

"I'm just saying, he had to change the color of his socks," Obama said with a chuckle.

The president is a known White Sox fan. Chicago acquired Youkilis from Boston in a trade on Sunday afternoon.

White Sox Leading Youkilis Sweepstakes?

A Major League official suggested on Friday night that the White Sox have renewed interest in Kevin Youkilis.

Chicago is using a converted second baseman, Orlando Hudson, at third base.

The White Sox have had scouts in to see Youkilis and liked him enough that they would take him if the Red Sox absorbed most of his remaining salary, according to a source.

The Pirates had two scouts at Friday night's Red Sox games as well, but their focus may be on a different player.
