A handful of clubs contacted the Dodgers about outfielder Manny Ramirez prior to Saturday's trade deadline, according to baseball sources.
FOX Sports first reported that the White Sox wanted Ramirez, who is currently on the disabled list for the third time this season.
Chicago was only willing to pay only $1 million of the more than $7 million remaining on his contract and would not give up any players.
Los Angeles reportedly asked for Chicago's Dayan Viciedo.
The Rays and Angels reportedly also asked about Ramirez.

Frank Thomas will become an ambassador for the White Sox, who will retire his No. 35 jersey During "Frank Thomas Day" on Aug. 29.
Thomas, a two-time AL MVP, will be folded into the White Sox Speakers Bureau, which includes Carlton Fisk, Ron Kittle, Minnie Minoso and Bill "Moose" Skowron.
Thomas will represent the team at community and charity functions, shake hands, sign autographs, talk to the crowd, and in general, turn an event away from the ballpark into a happening since it will have such a recognizable team figure on hand.
"Frank Thomas is one of the greatest offensive players in Major League Baseball history and, without question, one of the greatest players in our franchise's long history," White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said in a release. "It is with great pleasure that we formally welcome Frank back to the White Sox family."

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen says he feels no pity for the division-rival Tigers, who placed two more players on the disabled list Sunday.
Detroit lost Magglio Ordonez to a broken ankle and Carlos Guillen to a right calf strain.
They put Brandon Inge on the DL less than a week ago with a broken bone in his left hand.
"I'm not going to feel happy about it, but I'm not going to be upset," Ozzie Guillen said.
"When [Jake Peavy] went down, I heard [Tigers pitcher Justin] Verlander in an interview. He felt bad about Peavy but not feel sorry for the White Sox. Same way. I feel bad for those two guys but I don't feel sorry for Detroit. That's part of the game."

The White Sox and Nationals are stuck in trade negotiations involving outfielder Adam Dunn, which leads some to believe that Chicago will turn their attention towards Milwaukee's Prince Fielder.
"When you're in first place, it's nicer," Sox general manager Kenny Williams said.
"When you're on the opposite end of the spectrum, it's not so nice. But we're always in the same mode. It's just kind of waiting for other teams to get in the same mode of wanting to do things and be kind of more aggressive along those lines of moving personnel around."
Chicago is looking for a left-hander run producer, a role that both Dunn and Fielder would fill nicely.
