Agent: White Sox Have Interest In Crisp

The White Sox have expressed interest in free agent outfielder Coco Crisp, according to his agent.

"I have talked to (general manager) Kenny Williams on a preliminary basis," agent Steve Compte said Tuesday. "We're going to be a little patient. We haven't talked dollars. We're trying to identify the teams where there's definitely a fit, and I'm sure they want to explore other options."

Dye Could Move To First Base

Jermaine Dye is open to playing first base if it'll help him get a contract.

Dye, 35, has only played one game at first base in his career.

If he isn't going to sign on with an American League team as a designated hitter, first base is a logical alternative.

"It wouldn't surprise me at all if he had some success over there," one executive told FOX Sports.

Jenks: I'm An Easy Scapegoat

Bobby Jenks believes that the White Sox are being overly critical of his weight.

"Did I feel I was being picked on? No," Jenks said in a phone interview with the Chicago Sun-Times. "But I felt I was the easy scapegoat because I had struggled in the end with some nagging injuries. This organization, just like most in this game, tell you, 'Come in, our door is open and tell us what's on your mind.' And when you do, they turn it around on you and make you feel bad. They're playing on your own words. They want you to come in, be honest and then they turn it around."

Jenks stands to make $7 million to $8 million through arbitration this winter.
