Junior Still Drawing Interest On Market

Ken Griffey Jr. has drawn a good amount of interest this month, with as many as nine teams lining up to negotiate with the free agent.

"I contacted some of them, and some have contacted us," agent Brian Goldberg said Friday. "We're still talking and there is no deadline for him to sign. He's confident that he'll play somewhere next season."

Agent: Nine Teams Interested In Griffey

Brian Goldberg, the agent for free-agent outfielder Ken Griffey Jr., claims that nine teams are interested in his client.

"Some I contacted, some contacted us," Goldberg said. "We're still talking."

Goldberg said that Griffey is willing to go anywhere to extend his career. Six of the teams that are interested in Griffey are from the American League.

"The list is longer than it was in the past," Goldberg said.
