Sincere Interest In A-Rod From White Sox, Angels And Cubs

There is sincere interest in Alex Rodriguez from at least three clubs - the White Sox, Angels and Cubs - and the Yankees will be gauging all potential trades in the coming weeks.

Scott Boras told the New York Daily News that in no uncertain terms that Rodriguez would not be going anywhere and that the Yankees did not want to send him anywhere.

?(Yankees general manager) Brian Cashman and I had a discussion and he made it clear that he has no intention of trading Alex, and I told him that Alex Rodriguez has a no-trade clause,? Boras said. ?There will be no movement of Alex Rodriguez this offseason. ?Alex came to New York and has averaged about 40 home runs a year. Last time I checked, there aren?t a lot of guys doing that. He came here because he wanted to be in a winning situation, and the team has been close but hasn?t done it yet. He wants to stay and be a part of doing it.?

A-Rod Told He Won't Be Dealt

Scott Boras said he recently got a phone call from Brian Cashman in which the GM was adamant that Rodriguez isn't going anywhere.

"Brian Cashman and I had a discussion and he made it clear that he has no intention of trading Alex," Boras told the Daily News, "and I told him that Alex Rodriguez has a no-trade clause."

Boras then added, "There will be no movement of Alex Rodriguez this offseason."

White Sox GM Kenny Williams has always been intrigued by Rodriguez and Sox manager Ozzie Guillen told the Chicago Sun-Times that "Obviously, (Williams) might shop for him. If he's going to make this team better, we'll try and do it. . . . Every time you mention (Rodriguez's) name, it seems like our name also comes up. This kid is one of the best in the game."
