Sources: Harden, Heilman To Stay With Cubs

The waiver period for trades before the September 1 roster deadline will come and go without the Cubs having made a deal, according to MLB sources, as reported by ESPN.com.

Twins Have 'Good Chance' To Land Harden

The Twins are looking to land Rich Harden in order to help catch the Tigers in the AL Central.

Minnesota is 4 1/2 games behind Detroit entering Monday's action.

In order to land Harden from the Cubs, the Twins would likely have to send Chicago a pair of top prospects.

Harden has been Chicago's top pitcher in the second half of the season.

Soriano To Have MRI, Cortisone Possible

Alfonso Soriano went for an MRI on his left knee Saturday after having problems in the field on Friday.

Soriano had been hoping to push the MRI back until after the weekend and will likely get a cortisone shot to relieve the pain if he doesn't have serious damage.

"It's something that needed to be done, so the quicker the better," Cubs manager Lou Piniella told the Associated Press.

If Soriano has a cortisone shot, Piniella claims that he could play by Tuesday.
