The Brewers claimed third baseman Casey McGehee off waivers from the Cubs on Wednesday, according to Yahoo.com.
McGehee spent a majority of last season with Class AAA Iowa of the PCL, where he batted .296 with 12 homers and 92 RBI in 133 games.

The offseason could be quieter than normal for the Cubs this winter should they decide to re-sign Kerry Wood and Ryan Dempster quickly.
Signing Wood and Dempster could eat up a large chunk of GM Jim Hendry's budget.

The Cubs are on the list of teams that Jake Peavy would wave his no-trade clause for even though the teams don't appear to be a fit for one another.
However, sources won't be surprised if Chicago GM Jim Hendry tried to put together a package that would include a swap of first basemen Derrek Lee and Adrian Gonzalez, who is rumored to be untouchable.
