Alfonso Soriano will bat in the leadoff spot for the Cubs when he returns to the active roster, according to the Chicago Tribune.
He is expected to return from the disabled list on May 1st against the Brewers; Reed Johnson is currently hitting first for the Cubs with Soriano out of the lineup.
"Yeah, we'll put him back in left field and lead him off," Manager Lou Pinella said. "We want to make sure he can do all the things a leadoff hitter needs to do. We don't really want to take any chances here early in the year of bringing him back too soon, and all of a sudden we have another problem on our hands."

The Cubs won their 10,000th game as a Major League franchise on Wednesday night with a 10-inning victory against the Rockies, according to the Chicago Tribune.
They mounted a ninth-inning comeback against Colorado and won in the 10th on a two-out single by Ryan Theriot.
"That was an exciting game, well-played on both sides," Cubs' Manager Lou Piniella said. "Our kids battled. They came back in the ninth on the two-run homer, and then Theriot gets that big base hit there in the 10th. These kids are confident, I can tell you that, and they're getting after it every night."
