Derrek Lee will be back with the Cubs for Sunday's game at Minnesota after just one minor league rehab appearance.
The move to activate Lee from the disabled list will come one day sooner than expected, as injuries to Tony Womack and Freddy Bynum during Saturday night's 3-0 loss to Minnesota forced Chicago's hand.
Lee went 1-for-4 and with an RBI single Saturday night in a rehab start for Triple-A Iowa.

Cubs rookie OF Freddie Bynum was taken to the hospital on Saturday night after experiencing swelling in his right arm during a 3-0 loss to the Twins.
Bynum started for the Cubs and went 1-for-3. Matt Murton pinch hit for him in the ninth inning, and Bynum said afterward that he was headed to the hospital to see what was causing the swelling.
"I'd like to find out what's going on," Bynum said.

Kerry Wood's comeback has hit a snag. Maybe even a season-ending one for the Cubs right-hander.
Wood, who has made just four starts following shoulder surgery, said Wednesday that he's concerned that he might not be able to pitch again this year.
"With each passing day, I get more and more doubts," Wood said. "But I have to keep going and try to get through this."

Cubs catcher Michael Barrett's 10-game suspension for punching the White Sox's A.J. Pierzynski was upheld by Major League Baseball on Monday.
Barrett's suspension began with Monday night's interleague game against the Indians. He will be eligible to play again June 30 against the White Sox.
"I'm disappointed, but there's nothing we can do about it," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said.

The Cubs placed lefthanded pitcher Glendon Rusch on the 15-day disabled list Sunday due to lower back spasms.
Appearing as both a starter and reliever, Rusch is 2-7 with a 7.80 ERA in 15 appearances. He registered two very short stints in his last two starts, both losses.
The Cubs have not seen a lot of success when Rusch appears, posting only two wins in his 15 appearances.
