Tsuyoshi Wada Misses Bullpen Session

Orioles pitcher Tsuyoshi Wada has been held out of his scheduled bullpen session because of discomfort in his left elbow.

Wada was sent for an X-ray and manager Buck Showalter said there was nothing unusual about the results.

The pitcher signed a two-year, $8.14 million contract last December.

Official: No Truth To Rumors Of Angelos Selling Orioles

An Orioles official said there is "absolutely no truth" to recent rumors that owner Peter Angelos is shopping the club.

Eric Bickel, a radio host on 106.7 The Fan in Washington, said earlier this week that he had heard Angelos was quietly discussing a sale of the Orioles.

Rumors that Angelos is considering a sale have become annual with fans desperate to see the Orioles end their streak of 14-straight losing seasons.

Orioles, Adam Jones Reach $6.15M Deal

The Orioles have avoided arbitration with Adam Jones by agreeing to a one-year, $6.15 million contract.

Jones made $3.25 million last season, when he hit .280 and set career highs in games (151), doubles (26), homers (25) and RBIs (83).

The center fielder was seeking $7.4 million and Baltimore was offering $5 million.

Orioles Call Off Pursuit Of Manny Ramirez

The Orioles are no longer interested in signing Manny Ramirez.

"I don't know that Manny Ramirez is a fit for our club right now," said president of baseball operations Dan Duquette.

Ramirez, 39, retired last season rather than serve a suspension for violating Major League Baseball's drug policy. He was suspended for 100 games, but the ban was trimmed to 50 games because he sat out nearly all of the 2011 season. He will serve the suspension beginning with the first game he is eligible to play after joining a new team.

A week ago, Duquette said he had conducted exploratory talks with Ramirez's agent.

Orioles Apologize To South Korean Organizations

The Orioles have apologized to two South Korean baseball organizations upset with the club over its contract with a local high school pitcher.

The Korea Baseball Association says that the Orioles violated local rules that bar the signing of student players until their graduation year.

Officials said the Orioles signed 17-year-old left-hander Kim Seong-min last month.

Dan Duquette, Baltimore's executive vice president of baseball operations, apologized to the Korea Baseball Organization and the Korea Baseball Association for an "unintentional breach of protocol in failing to tender a status check in the process of signing" Kim.

"The Orioles respect Major League Baseball's recruiting policies and the governing bodies and people that contribute to the growth of baseball around the world," Duquette said in a release.
