Sources: O's, Cubs Talking Deal For Hill

The Orioles and Cubs are reportedly discussing a trade that would send pitcher Rich Hill to Baltimore.

"We are talking to them," Orioles club president Andy MacPhail said about the Cubs. "We are talking to a lot of teams about a lot of players."

A source indicated that the deal is "very likely" and that the Orioles could send the Cubs a player to be determined later based on Hill's success on the mound.

Roberts Seeks Four-Year Deal From Orioles

Second baseman Brian Roberts is reportedly seeking a four-year contract extension from the Orioles.

Roberts, who will be eligible for free agency after the season, has been offered three years at $30 million, according to the Baltimore Sun.

"We've made no secret of the fact that we'd love to have Brian come back," said Andy MacPhail, the team's president of baseball operations said Thursday. "We're still working on it. The market hasn't completely played itself out yet. Hopefully we can get something done."

With $66.1M Deal, Markakis Drives 1994 Ranger

Orioles' outfielder Nick Markakis recently signed a $66.1 million extension with the team, but he still drives a 1994 Ford Ranger.

"The lifestyle that I'm living right now is pretty comfortable," said Markakis. "I just want to keep things simple, keep being the way you are. There's absolutely no reason to change."
