Gibbons Set To Sign With Long Island

Former Orioles' outfielder Jay Gibbons confirmed on Sunday that he will sign a contract with the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League this week, according to The Baltimore Sun.

"I'm looking forward to getting back and playing ball again," said Gibbons. "It's been 10 weeks, so hopefully I can get out on the field some time this week."

He was released by the Orioles in March, several months after he admitted using human growth hormone.
