Braves third baseman Martin Prado will miss the rest of the season including any playoffs after an MRI showed he tore an oblique muscle, according to an Associated Press report on Tuesday.

Doctors say Prado, who also bruised his hip, will need two months rest with zero activity but should ready for spring training.

Cox Endorses Kasten For Commissioner Job

A day after Stan Kasten announced he is resigning as president of the Nationals at the end of the season, Bobby Cox was asked whether Kasten, who is his former boss in Atlanta, would make a good baseball commissioner.

"I think he would, yeah," Cox said. "He's smart. He knows the game. He's a lawyer. He loves baseball more than anything. He knows the inner workings of it. He'd be a solid choice, in my opinion."

Money Could Keep Chipper Playing

Chipper Jones could continue his career into 2011, but is currently unsure if his body will cooperate.

"I honestly think that while I?m still competitive ? and while I will miss that terribly ? I have other things that I enjoy doing and want to do," said Jones. "You have a shelf life where you can make absurd amounts of money playing this game. I will take advantage of that shelf life for as long as I can."
