The Kansas City Royals Saturday acquired left-handed pitcher Tim Collins, right-handed pitcher Jesse Chavez and outfielder Gregor Blanco in exchange for outfielder Rick Ankiel, right-handed pitcher Kyle Farnsworth and cash.

Blanco, 26, has spent parts of the past three seasons with the Braves, hitting a combined .252 (134-for-531) with 15 doubles, six triples, one home run, 42 RBI and 66 runs in 204 games. Strasburg Scratched From Start At Last Minute

Stephen Strasburg was a late scratch from his highly-anticipated start against Tommy Hanson and the Atlanta Braves.

According to Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo, Strasburg was having trouble getting loose during his pre-game warmup routine.

"He just didn't feel comfortable with getting loose and preparing to pitch," Rizzo said.

Rizzo appeared on the Braves SportSouth telecast to explain his decision to pull Strasburg, which was announced as fans poured into Nationals Park.

"He didn't want to disappoint his teammates or the fans that came out to see him play," Rizzo said. "But those decisions are taken out of a 22-year old's hands relatively quickly. I felt comfortable with the decision - even though I knew it would be an unpopular one. Thats my job and I felt it was really the only decision that had to be made."

Miguel Batista started in Strasburg's place and was staked an early 3-0 lead against Atlanta.

According to ESPN.com, Strasburg was later listed as day to day with shoulder inflammation after an MRI and X-ray showed no structural damage.
