Braves To Host Civil Rights Game In 2011-12

The Braves will host Major League Baseball's Civil Rights Games in 2011-12, team president John Schuerholz announced Wednesday.

No dates or opponents have been set for the games, which will be played during the next two regular seasons.

Braves Looking At Willingham, Hart, Bautista

The Braves want to upgrade their offense and have looked at Washington's Josh Willingham, Milwaukee's Corey Hart and Toronto's Jose Bautista, according to a source.

No deal is imminent.

All three players will be free agents after the 2010 season.

Heyward Won't Try To Play In ASG

Braves rookie Jason Heyward is second among National League outfielders in fan voting, but he won't try to play in the All-Star Game.

Heyward was placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday night with a deep bone bruise in his left thumb.

He will be eligible to come off the DL during the All-Star break from July 12-14.
