The Braves will be looking to fortify their pitching rotation this winter and could have their eye on Derek Lowe.
"Improve our starting pitching ? that?s our No. 1 priority," General Manager Frank Wren said Monday.
Recently, Atlanta has had scouts following the Dodgers around scouting Lowe, who will become a free agent at season's end.

Mike Hampton, who started for the Braves on Sunday afternoon and gave up a two-run homer to his good friend Brad Ausmus in the third inning, will be a free agent in a few weeks, and he confirmed after the game that he would be interested in signing with the Astros.
"I've always loved this place," Hampton said after the Astros beat the Braves, 3-1. "Definitely. I'm sure there will be interest on both sides. We'll see if we can work something out. I've always loved it here."

Chipper Jones won the NL batting title on Sunday and reiterated that he wants to retire as a member of the Atlanta Braves.
"Yeah, definitely," Jones said of his hope to stay with the Braves beyond next season. "I was born and bred into this organization. It?s the only organization I?ve ever known. Bobby Cox is the only manager I?ve ever played for."
"I can?t imagine the grass being any greener on the other side. I don?t want that to happen, but every dog has his day."
Jones edged Albert Pujols for the batting crown with a .364 average, making him the oldest switch-hitting batting champion in major league history.
"It?s sweet vindication, after a bunch of people said I was done," said Jones. "The last couple of years have been awesome, from a numbers standpoint."
