Daniel Hudson and Ian Kennedy are unlikely to receive long-term contract extensions from the Diamondbacks before the start of the season.
Contract talks in recent weeks have gone nowhere even though the team had interest in exploring longer deals.
"I don't anticipate anything happening with either of them before the start of the season," general manager Kevin Towers said.
Kennedy won't be eligible for free agency for four more seasons (after 2015) and Hudson has five years (after 2016) to go.

Joe Saunders does not think he will miss any time after being hit in the left shin by a line drive in an exhibition game.
The Diamondbacks left-hander was struck by a shot off the bat of Cleveland's Carlos Santana in the first inning and was pulled.
"It hit me in the side of the shin. If it was in the front I would have been toast," Saunders said on Monday. "They will check me out tomorrow. It is probably a bone bruise and is going to be sore."
