D-Backs Send Jorge Julio To Florida

The D-backs sent reliever Jorge Julio along with cash considerations to the Marlins in exchange for right-hander Yusmeiro Petit on Monday.

Julio, who was acquired by the D-backs last May from the Mets in exchange for Orlando Hernandez, was expendable given Arizona's depth of right-handers in the bullpen as well as his $3.6 million salary.

Petit, 22, spent the better part of last year with the Marlins' Triple-A team in Albuquerque, where he was 4-6 with a 4.38 ERA in 17 starts. He appeared in 15 games for the Marlins, including one as a starter, and was 1-1 with a 9.57 ERA.
