The Indians placed pitcher Joe Borowski on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, a day after giving up a two-run homer in the ninth inning in a loss to the Red Sox.

The Indians said Borowski, who led the AL with 45 saves last season, has a strained triceps, according to an Associated Press report.

The team recalled RHP Tom Mastny from Triple-A Buffalo.
