 More Rays NewsJacob McGee, yet another top pitching prospect in the Rays' system, gave up two runs on one hit and three walks in five innings of work on Monday in a Double-A start. He also struck out five batters. McGee has a 11.07 K/9 rate through three games in 2008. In 140 innings in high Single-A and Double-A in 2007, McGee had a K/9 rate of 11.25. What continues to be most impressive about McGee is his control. He has a 1.077 WHIP this season, down from 1.37 during his five starts in Double-A late last season, which has helped keep his ERA at 2.77. |
