Jacob McGee, yet another top pitching prospect in the Rays' system, gave up two runs on one hit and three walks in five innings of work on Monday in a Double-A start. He also struck out five batters. McGee has a 11.07 K/9 rate through three games in 2008. In 140 innings in high Single-A and Double-A in 2007, McGee had a K/9 rate of 11.25. What continues to be most impressive about McGee is his control. He has a 1.077 WHIP this season, down from 1.37 during his five starts in Double-A late last season, which has helped keep his ERA at 2.77. |
