Giants' outfielder Dave Roberts had surgery on his injured left knee on Saturday and could miss up to 12 weeks, according to the Associated Press.

Fred Lewis will take over for Roberts in left field.

"We're going to go slow at first," trainer Dave Groeschner said of Roberts' rehab. "He did have a significant amount of arthritis in there. We'll see how he responds after the first three weeks. We're definitely going to take it a little bit easy at first to make sure these things don't come back."
