Tigers left-hander Dontrelle Willis was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday after an MRI confirmed that he has a hyper-extended right knee, according to an Associated Press report.

Willis injured the knee while delivering a pitch in the first inning Friday night against the White Sox and minutes later was taken out of the game.
