The Nationals placed first baseman Dimitri Young on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained lower back on Wednesday night, according to the Washington Times.
He missed some time this spring with back problems and was the National League's Comeback Player of the Year in 2007.
Washington activated catcher Johnny Estrada from the disabled list, and he will fill the roster spot left by Young.
