The Diamondbacks and centerfielder Chris Young appear to be close to a long-term contract, according to the Arizona Republic.

A deal could be a announced within the week, but the details are not known at this point in time.

It is expected to be for six years though, and short of the deal Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki received this offseason.
