Barry Zito finally acknowledged a growing frustration with his velocity following Monday's loss to the Dodgers. He was routinely clocked in the low 80's with his fastball on Opening Day.

Pitching Coach Dave Righetti has advised Zito not be excessively concerned with the radar gun and to make the most of what he does have.

"No matter what (speed) it's coming out of your arm, if you overthrow, it's straight," Righetti said. "If you relax, you'll have some movement, and you'll last longer, make better pitches. That's what we talked about. We had a great session today, and we concentrated on only that."
