Pedro Martinez had an MRI on his sore leg on Wednesday in New York and is expected to miss time with a strained left hamstring, according to the New York Daily News.

"He said he felt a kind of a little pop in his hamstring, so we weren't going to mess around with him," manager Willie Randolph said.

The MRI is being used as a precaution to make sure that the injury suffered on Tuesday night isn't any more serious.

Nelson Figueroa is expected to take Pedro's stop in the rotation as he heals.
