Cubs' pitcher Kerry Wood has back spasms and missed a pitching assignment on Tuesday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Lou Pinella downplayed the injury, claiming that he would be evaluated further on Wednesday.

"If we had to be concerned about everything to be concerned about, we'd never sleep around here," he said. "This is just a stiff back and nothing more, and it could happen to anybody."
