Josh Beckett hasn't officially been scratched as Boston's Opening Day starter in Japan, but it appears as though he's a lock to miss the team's trip overseas, according to the Boston Herald.

ESPN.com reported on Tuesday night that Beckett would miss the start, but the Red Sox maintain that the decision has yet to be made.

"I don?t think we know (for sure) yet," Manager Terry Francona told ESPN.com.
