On a day when Tampa Bay allowed 12 runs and 14 hits in a loss to the Indians, the Rays actually got some encouraging news.

Scott Kazmir, sidelined the past two weeks with an elbow strain, threw a bullpen session before Monday?s 12-10 defeat and hopes to make his first spring start as soon as Sunday against the Tigers, according to an Associated Press report.
