Red Sox starter Josh Beckett might miss the team's opener in Japan because of a back injury, according to the Boston Herald.

"We?re not there yet," Francona said on Sunday. "I will say this: That?s not the end all and be all. I said to (Beckett), 'Just get better.' That?s what we?re focused on."
