Cy Young winner C.C. Sabathia says that talks with the Cleveland Indians about a contract extension will be put on hold until after the 2008 season, according to The Plain Dealer.

"This off-season, through my representatives at Legacy Sports Group, I have discussed the possibility of a contract extension with the Cleveland Indians. At this time, we haven't been able to reach agreement. Now that the reporting date for spring training is here, it is time to put aside contract discussions so that I can focus all of my energies and attention on preparing for the upcoming season," Sabathia said on his website Wednesday.

Sabathia had the second best season FIC amongst pitchers last season with a score of 293 (8.62 per start). He had a Reina Value of +79%, 'deserving' to make $15.7 million.
