Francisco Rodriguez and the Angels have not made any progress on their negotiations and appear to be headed towards arbitration, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"Sometimes you file for a trial, and that's what we did," said Paul Kinzer, Rodriguez's agent, to the Times. "There's a philosophical difference between us and the Angels on where [his salary] should be, so we're going to let an arbitrator decide."

Rodriguez had a Reina Value of +43% in 2007 because of his season FIC of 213, which was second best amongst closers. Rodriguez 'deserved' a salary of $10 million and made $7 million for the year.
